Heartwood is an RYCS (Yoga Alliance certified children's yoga school) and as such, our teachers are all qualified youth yoga professionals. Our youth yoga classes include games, activities, stories, and other fun practices to build character, citizenship, environmental awareness, and compassion for others.
Tuesdays 5:00-6:00 pm
This weekly class for ages 6-10 explores concepts of yoga such as "Ashimsa" - to do no harm to help students learn about self, environment, and positive mindsets. The class includes fun postures, games, periodic aerial yoga exploration, nature walks, art, and more!
*Regular class fees apply - Parents may use a class from their account to pay for their child's class (please see the desk to arrange)
Parents are invited to relax in our library, garden or lobby while students have their special time on the mat. Our doors are glass for checking in from time to time, but we ask parents to remain outside of the room so their kids can truly let go and share.
Heartwood closes one week in the summer so we can devote the property exclusively to our youth campers ages 4-12 for a safe, action packed, yoga-friendly experience. Our programs give kids a chance to spread out and enjoy both indoor and outdoor experiences on our beautiful grounds with art, movement, and creative games designed to explore the natural world and our healthiest selves. Students learn age appropriate yoga and meditation in ways that are anything but dull, including aerial yoga, partner yoga, blindfolded yoga and more.
Space is limited and our camp follows an intense youth teacher training so newly certified teachers stay for an internship during this camp. This means we maintain a ratio of at least one teacher to every 4-5 kids (sometimes 1-2!) and our own experienced staff is on board, guiding everyone as well, so the day remains progressive and educational, while also assuring everyone gets individual attention from eager, qualified yoga professionals. Space is limited, so sign up early! Students bring lunch each day, but snacks are provided.
See schedule following.
