Heartwood is a 7-acre retreat style facility which most people find to be unique and very special. It is small and intimate, hosting one program at a time, while at the same time being expansive with diverse spaces that encourage students to connect to nature and our best selves. We have three climate-controlled practice spaces; the yoga center, the lodge and the pavilion. Study spaces include a yoga library, a meditation gazebo, and art workshop. Our outdoor spaces include an award winning Chakra Garden, bamboo meditation grove, Irish wishing tree, 11 circuit labyrinth, 5 elements fire pit, shamanic medicine wheel with yoga practice decks, and places to wander, sit or practice. We also have a lovely boutique in the office with yoga essentials and products. Heartwood is designed to offer a bigger yoga experience, rooted in classical yoga theory and practice.
People often ask about the creation of Heartwood. Check out this great about manifesting the Chakra Garden!
Our class schedule varies depending on the day of the week, but we offer morning, afternoon, and evening classes to accommodate different schedules. Download the Heartwood Retreat Center app for updated information on our offerings.
Yes, we have a dedicated parking lot for our students to use during class. All cars must park here due to fire safety regulations unless you require a handicapped parking space.
Due to the private and reflective nature of our grounds and classes, we are not open for visitors to stop by anytime. We are open 1/2 hour before scheduled classes and for 1 hour after. To visit outside of participating in a class, you must make an appointment or stop by during our office hours Monday - Saturday, 9am-1pm.
When you arrive, please follow the signs to the parking lot at the back of the property. The yoga center and office is in the building across from parking at the back of the property. A sidewalk leads you to our front door.
Heartwood has 2 dogs, Shiva and Dharma who visit daily. Their job is to welcome guests, patrol the outskirts of the property and keep away critters and snakes. If you are not a fan of pets, please consider this before visiting as they are a part of our community. Our sweet natured, young dogs respond positively to a calm voice or simply ignoring them if you do not wish to interact. They also love and appreciate if you want to pet them or throw a stick for them to fetch.
Heartwood is open for one hour before and after any class so our community can enjoy the grounds and bask in the peaceful ambiance of the grounds. We are not a public facility, but a private school, so please stick to the times around classes or call to make arrangements to visit, as we may be hosting an event that needs privacy in these areas.
